LCWR - 5 Reasons to Leave the Labels Behind

I am at war - but not with my fellow sisters.
My enemy is the devil.
Ignitum Today, a social networking site for the JPII and B16 generations, has published an article that I wrote concerning the LCWR news and the "liberal/conservative" divide among Catholics in the US. Check it out! I think internal division is one of the most important issues facing the US Church today and we can do something about it.

I just read yor article on "Leave the Labels Behind".

I loved it! (i mean this kind of topic has caused me stress in the past - the division between left and right - and i think you get the perspective just right - focusing on the authority of the Church and on love).

And we've seen this division before in history - within the Franciscans, between the Franciscans and the Dominicans.

When i examine the lives of my three favourite saints from the last millenium - Ss Francis of Assisi, Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross - they all show the respect due to the teachers in the Church, to the authority of the Church. They don't get tangled up and opiniated about doctrine. Their real focus is to love God and neighbour - to be living examples of Christ here on Earth - to bring the joy, peace and beauty of Heaven to others here on Earth. And i mention these three, also, because they are saints that my Protestant friends love, too (not just great saints - role models - for Catholics as well).

Sorry, banging on a bit. Will stop there. Best wishes, God bless, Ed (UK)

Absolutely agree Ed!

Losing our peace over difficulties in the Church and fomenting division is not something that the Saints participated in. They certainly spoke the Truth but they did not do so in a way that was alienating or divisive.

I will always be thankful to Father Corapi for his teachings, I still listen to his CDs and I pray for him.

I really hope to hear from him again.
